Come up and see my etchings

drawing on hard grounds_tempest

Drawing into hard grounds on a zinc plate before putting the plate into an acid bath to deeply etch the lines so that they will hold ink for printing. This print is inspired by Ariel’s song in The Tempest: “Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes, Nothing of him that doth fade, But doth suffer a sea-change, into something rich and strange”. Process photo for Tempest, intaglio etching with chine colle, 2014.
